Visit to Chaitanya Old Age Home


“They make a living by what they get, but they make a life by what they give.”

Students of grades 1-8 visited Chaitanya Old Age Home on the eve of Holi to celebrate the festival of colours with the senior citizens. The noble thought was an outcome of the profit earning contribution of Makkal Sante by the students of classes 6 - 8.

They greeted the students with a bright smile.

After the introduction, the students started off with the cake cutting. Later, they presented them with a Happy Holi card . Next they started with a small entertainment programme that they had prepared for them. The residents bubbled with energy, as they shook a leg with the students , It was a different kind of satisfaction altogether, to hear their joyous laughs, their toothless smiles and hushed giggles. The very purpose of the visit had been achieved.

The students indulged in playing dry Holi with the residents and had lot of fun in the true spirit of colors. Finally they bid farewell to everyone. The visit left a deep impact and the students were more sensitive towards the elderly. The visit was an epiphany. Each one of the students was determined to stand by their parents and elders, through thick and thin. The residents at the old age home had motivated us all of them with their unwavering hopes.
